Planning Branch

The following work of branch is supervised by Dy. E.S.A

1. Budget for different plan schemes and united funds is alloted by department of Planning.Proposals received from different deptts. Local institutions such as Municipal councils,Gram Panchayts and from Hon'ble MLAs and other representives are scruitinized these proposals are placed in meeting of Distt.Dev.& Planning Board.Funds are released to the concerned Executive Agencies after getting approval from th eChairman Distt.Planning & Dev.Board.Formulae as long term distt.perspective plan and to evolve a strategy of planned development for the distt. on the basis of feltneeds of th epeople and priorities.
2. Takes appropriate measures for proper implementation of schemes of programmes and projects.
3. To monitor the progress of projects and for this purpose the Distt.Planning & Dev.Board meets as frequently as necessary.The board sendsd performance reports to the State Planning Borad at regular intervals.
4. Encourages the Panchayats and executives of other local bodies to take up implementation work of development projects themselves.

MPLAD Branch

The work of this branch is supervised by Dy. E.S.A. Under this scheme an amount of Rs.2.00 crores per year is available to each Hon'ble Member of Parliament for recommending development works in this constituency. The Hon'ble rajya sabha M.P. can recommend funds for Dev. works for his nodal district as well as other district in the state. The Hon'ble M.P. send proposals on this letter pad.If the proposals are correct as per guidelines then the funds are released with th eapproval of Deputy commisioner with in a prescribed period. The proposals are scruitinised as per MPLAD estimates/guidelines.After completion of work the concerned executing agencies are responsible for sending the utilization certificate. The processing of the proposals that proposals sanctioned correspondence and related misc.work is done by Asstt.Research officer senior Asstt. is responsible for maintaining accounts,cash books issuing checks reconciling with books etc.Collection od Utilizations certificates and to prepare agenda for monthly meeting is done by statistical asstt.

Staistical Wing

Under the supervision of District Staistical Officer village wise directory for 896 inhabited villages of the district is updated every year.This directory contains vide ranging data onvarious socio-economic aspects of the villages in 186 columns.this includes population statistics , facilities available to th epublic at village level such as education Institutions,Health Institutions,Vety.Institutions and on other parameters of development.In villages whrere such facilities are not available at the village level distance of near by institutions from concerned village is recorded.To apply for 24 hours Power supply in the villages population statistics are provided to th econcerned gram Panchayats.This information of the village directory is also available on website www.punjab.gov.in For urban area Municipal Committee wise population staistics and information on other important socioeconomic aspects is provided to the public.

This office also provides information to Punajb govt. regarding District at at Glance,Block at a Glance,Block wise,indicatorsof Development,Employees Census,Statistical Abstract of Punjab,Consumer Price Index Number,Estimates of Capital formation,state Income Estimates,Weekly wholesale and retail Prices,quarterly Prices of Building Material ,Prices of Various Types of Livestock and Livestock Products.

N.S.S. Branch

As per instructions of Govt.Of India field surveys are conducted under the supervision of District Statistical Officer.At present survey of the 63 ^rd round regarding services sector enterprises is being done by the concerned Statistical assistant.
